Two Online Auctions with Local Connections
Thanks to our friend Gabby of Design Mom who invented the online blogger's auction, blogging auctions have become a productive way to raise money for those in need. Two auctions are currently underway to help families with local connections.
The Emily Jones Memorial auction is raising funds for Emily Jones the widow of John Jones who died in the Nutty Putty Caves last month (see here.) John leaves behind a daughter, and a baby on the way.
To participate in the auction, go here.
Rally for Rafe is benefiting a family in Highland, Utah. Rafe, the father of the family is battling cancer. There are hundreds of prizes to bid on including (ahem) a signed copy of my book. But shhhh this one is a surprise for the family.
To participate in this auction, go Rally for Rafe.
I believe in the power of the online community!

Thanks for posting this about Emily and John Jones. We were in the same married ward in Provo, and we are still in shock about this horrific story. They were such a sweet, happy couple. I am so sorry Emily has to go through this. There aren't a lot of people like her. She is so kind and friendly to everyone. She is a dear.
I LOVE your book. I have lent it out to numerous friends
Is there a website where you can read Rafe's story?
I wish the best for both of these families.
Thanks Courtney for posting this! Rafe's story: he is my neighbor and my sons best friends. He has been battling cancer for a little over a year. Started in his leg and spread through out his body. He has a young family, sweet wife and 3 young boys. They both grew up in Orem. Rafe is the sweetest guy always stays positive and never complains. We are just trying to raise money to help pay for medical costs, lots of missed work, and for their son's future. They are loved by many and we are still praying for a miracle..please keep Rafe in your prayers!
