Ring.
Ring.
Ring.
"Hello. Bombay House."
"Yes. I need to order for pick-up."
"Name and telephone number please."
" Courtney, 801-787..."
"What you want to order Courtney?"
"One Chicken Tika Masala, One Vegetable . . ."
" . . . Vegetable Coconut Korma? Yes?"
"Yes."
"What else?"
"Two orders of . . ."
"Samosa? And two orders of Garlic Naan? Yes?"
"Hey. How do you know my order?"
Deep, Indian-accented laugh. Like Punjab on Annie.
"Yes. That is all?"
"Yes."
"25 minutes."

Either Bombay house is now serving ESP with their meals, or we eat there more than I think we do.
If you are in town for Women's Conference, give Bombay House a try. Don't forget the Mango Lassi. Welcome to our town!

Bombay House was a favorite of mine when I lived in Provo! I haven't found any other Indian food place that comes close.
Did you read this article in the daily herald today?!?!? WRONG!

i dream about bombay house...and galaxy fries and fry sauce - back when there was a galaxy burger. i know, that dates me. but mostly i dream about bombay house and every time i swing through town i have to order a quick order and eat it in a nearby dark alley - so as not to share. actually, i had a roommate with no boundaries back in the college days and she would sit down and welcome herself to half of whatever you brought in the house...but she hated spicey. i'm not the biggest fan of spicey-spicey - but i was for her. so, yes, bombay house was my fave...my one true indian love...there's a vietnamese/thai place (don't ask) that kind of gives me goosebumps a couple of towns over...but never have i found another indian place. sad. sigh. i think i have to take a road trip to utah. congrats on the baby.
I love Bombay house more than I love my children. (no, not really) It might require a stop there this evening on the way home from the ballet studio. Oh yes. My favorite is that you get MORE FOOD when you order take out.
Chicken Tika Masala, Lamb Curry, Malai Kofta, and lots of naan, please.
Chicken Tikka Masala! Samosas! Naan! My fave-fave-faves! I was going to eat Mexican food for lunch, but now I'm not so sure.
I LOVE Chicken Tikka Massala. Good choice.
I LOVE also. All of it. And you, too!
Oh my goodness. I miss Bombay House so much! I had a guy ask me on a date once. I didn't necessarily want to go out with him, but when he said "Bombay House" I wholeheartedly agreed. I'm a little ashamed of that now, but OH! The Tikka Masala! The restaurants here don't even approach it! The naan! I'm flying there in two months. For real. And I'm eating there. And Communal. And Pizzeria 712.
Okay, so they do that same thing to me. Daniel and my husband exchange as if they are BFF's. If you haven't tried it yet, try the chicken Makhani. It is a whole new level of goodness.
That was the site of my husband and my first date. We went back a few weeks ago- 8 years later, and it was still great. Keep up the good work, Bombay House!
Hey, I just discovered your blog and I'm a big fan! We moved here almost two years ago; we live downtown and we're close to everything! I'm glad to find another Provo lover.
And I'm pretty sure Bombay House will be seeing me this weekend! That sounds soooo good right now.
MMM, Bombay House is what I call comfort food.
Looks delicious & you eat WHATEVER you want & whatever your babes can tolerate you eating while breastfeeding!
PS. I hate when people sign Anonymous...what are they hiding?
Cjane you are beautiful in that photo! Just how a new mama should be :)
If I ever get to Utah, I'll be finding that restaurant. They may even hear my tummy rumbling all the way from England!
I have tasted no Indain food that is as awesome as the BH. That vegetable coconut korma? Heaven.
He remembers my favorite because I order it every time I eat there. Lol. I don't know how he does it!
hahahaaaaaaaaa!
awesome! i love places like that! and i love having "a regular" somewhere. :)
LOL at the title of this post! Hilarious!
They know me too! We always get Chicken Tika Masala & Chicken Coconut Korma. SOOOOO GOOOOOD!
My sister and I had a non-functional folk band named after that mango lassi from the Bombay house. We sang songs about the signing of the magna carta, so we weren't cool.
We liked to go to the Bombay House with our genetically Indian friend who had white parents and grew up with us in SoCal. She was Mango Lassi's tamborine player.
I wish I lived in Provo so I could go to Bombay House. I love Indian food!
My husband and I LOVE Bombay House! I was actually dreaming about their delicious food on Thursday while doing the dishes. I guess that means it's time to go back! Also, my husband and I went to Communal for the first time last night and it was fantastic. Thanks for the great review and keep them coming!
I just typed up a long comment about how they recognized my voice forever ago when I lived in Provo- and told a story about crazy food stealing roommate only to realize my sister already left the same comment!
But I live by the Punjabi in-laws (in a communtiy with lots of Punjabi Shiks) so I get great hommmade indian- even at Thanksgiving. Nothing says America like turkey with a side of curry. And when it has been a while since a feast at the Sikh temple there are many restraunts to choose from.
But Becky lives in Hades- so must be happy with memories and greasy Mexican food and scary sushi.
